I grew up in my family's restaurant. I watched them juggle paper tickets, handle phone orders during rush hour, and struggle with POS systems that weren't built for independent restaurants.
Most restaurant technology is designed for chains — expensive, locked into long contracts, requires proprietary hardware, and still can't print a kitchen ticket in Chinese. The POS shouldn't be the hardest part of running a restaurant.

Ginger POS is free when online ordering is enabled. Customers pay a $1 platform fee per online order — your restaurant pays nothing. For restaurants with fewer than 100 online orders per month or without online ordering, a $59/month platform fee applies.
Any device with a browser — iPad, Android tablet, laptop. For kitchen printing, you'll need Epson thermal printers (we'll help you pick). For card payments, a smart terminal. No proprietary POS hardware required.
