What Is Your Online Ordering Provider Costing You?
Prices taken from each provider’s own pricing page, August 2026
A monthly fee is due in a slow February. A percentage grows with every large order. Put in your own numbers and see what a year actually comes to — and what the same orders cost on Ginger Direct.
$499/mo, no per-order restaurant fee. Diners pay a 5% order support fee.

Ginger Direct, a year
$0
At 400 orders a month and a $35 ticket, that is $5,988 a year from the restaurant. Ginger Direct charges the restaurant $0 — no monthly fee, no contract, with a Ginger Box and an iPad included.
On the diner’s side: this plan charges your customer about $1.75 an order (5% of the ticket); Ginger Direct is a flat $1 whatever the order size.
Recurring costs only. One-off charges — ChowNow’s setup fee and printer, the equipment bundled with Menufy’s annual plan — are excluded. Card processing is separate and varies by provider.
What Ginger Direct Is
A direct ordering channel that does not ask you to replace your POS. We build the site and the ordering portal and ship one Ginger Box and one iPad. The Box plugs into your router and prints every order to the printers you already own — the kitchen so the line starts cooking, the front counter for whoever hands the bag over. Nobody re-keys anything.
The customer pays on your site, so every ticket that prints is already paid for. Your POS is not touched, not integrated with, and its age does not matter — because the Box addresses the printers, not the POS.
No monthly fee and no contract for the restaurant. The platform fee is $1 per order and the diner pays it — and for high-volume, small-ticket shops like boba or coffee that comes down to $0.25 or $0.50 an order.
