Plus is 25% and adds discoverability, lower delivery fees shown to customers, and Uber One participation at an additional 5% on Uber One orders. What the marketplace fee is charged on
Uber's plans are quoted as a percentage of the order; check your statement for whether it is applied to the item subtotal before tax and fees, which is the industry norm and what DoorDash publishes. Uber's Webshop, its own direct-ordering product, is priced separately at a 2.5% order processing fee plus $0.29 per order, and Uber Direct, its on-demand courier service, starts at $7.99 per delivery.
What you keep on a $40 order
| Channel | Rate | Cost on $40 | You keep |
|---|---|---|---|
| Uber Eats Premium, delivery | 30% | $12.00 | $28.00 |
| Uber Eats Plus, delivery | 25% | $10.00 | $30.00 |
| Uber Eats Lite, delivery | 20% | $8.00 | $32.00 |
| Uber Eats Self-Delivery | 15% | $6.00 | $34.00 |
| Uber Eats pickup, validated pricing | 7% | $2.80 | $37.20 |
| Your own ordering site (Ginger Direct) | card processing only, as low as 2% + 5¢; $1 fee paid by the guest | about $0.85 | about $39.15 |
The last row assumes card processing as low as about 2% + 5¢ with the $1 platform fee paid by the guest. Your real rate depends on card mix and ticket size.
Frequently asked questions
What percentage does Uber Eats take from restaurants?
20% on the Lite plan, 25% on Plus and 30% on Premium for delivery orders, per Uber's published merchant pricing. Restaurants that deliver with their own drivers pay 15%. Pickup is 7% when in-store pricing is validated as matching, otherwise 10%. Uber lists 15% for Lite in select cities including Portland, New York City, Los Angeles and Seattle. Verified September 2026.
Does Uber Eats charge restaurants a monthly fee?
No. Uber's pricing page lists percentage marketplace fees only, with no monthly subscription. Plus and Premium open with a 0% introductory rate for 30 days, and Premium adds 0% in any of the first six months in which the restaurant gets fewer than 20 orders, subject to fewer than three cancellations and 95% availability.
How much does Uber Eats charge for pickup orders?
7% when the restaurant's in-store pricing is validated as matching its Uber Eats menu, otherwise 10%, on every plan, per Uber's pricing page. Pickup is the cheapest way to stay listed, since no courier is involved and the fee buys listing and discovery only.
What does Uber Eats Webshop cost?
Webshop is Uber's own direct-ordering product for a restaurant's website, priced at a 2.5% order processing fee plus $0.29 per order, per Uber's pricing page. That is the number to compare against other direct-ordering options, since it is Uber's answer to the question of ordering without a marketplace commission.
Is Uber Eats cheaper than DoorDash for restaurants?
At the plan level they are close: DoorDash publishes 15% Basic, 25% Plus and 30% Premier on delivery with 6% pickup; Uber publishes 20% Lite, 25% Plus and 30% Premium with 7% pickup and a 15% self-delivery option. DoorDash's lowest delivery tier is cheaper; Uber's self-delivery tier is a distinct option for restaurants with their own drivers. Both are commissioned on the order, and both have no monthly fee.
Once you know the cost
Most restaurants keep the marketplace for discovery and move repeat guests to a channel they own. Ginger Direct is that channel: your own ordering site, $0 a month, orders printing to the printers you already have, and a $1 per-order fee the guest pays.
